First Saturday Community Breakfast and $1/item clothing Sale.
On First Saturdays each month, the Luminary Church welcomes anyone in the Ten Mile, TN Community to join us for breakfast and to shop for clothing and other small items that may be on sale. Purchasing locally available, gently used clothing benefits the environment by reducing waste. The money collected supports Luminary Church outreach activities. Watch the News section of this website for announcements of cancellations.
Clothes Closet and Food Pantry
Our clothing and food ministries are open from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, providing good quality clothing and free food to people in need.
Enter through the rear of the church building and make your way to our second floor; church staff will be glad to guide you.
We accept donations of clean, wearable clothing and food items during regular office hours. Non-perishable food donations are always welcome (as long as food items are not expired).
Aid for utilities, rent, gas and other pressing financial needs are provided for those willing to undergo a short screening process.
Furniture and Household Goods
Provides furniture and household goods to families in need, including furnishings for an entire house after a fire.
Donations are provided to Midway Elementary, Middle and High School to use for needed student supplies.
Fundraiser events support outreach and aid programs.
The Luminary United Methodist Church in Ten Mile holds yard sales of donated items in order to generate funds to help support our outreach and aid programs. Donations of small items can be accepted any time during regular office items. For large item donations, contact the church office at 865-376-7040.

Holiday Food Boxes and Gifts Information – 2023 dates not yet available
If you need Christmas assistance of food and/or gifts for children (infant-high school), we need you to come to Luminary Church to apply on one of the dates listed below. This is the only site accepting applications for residents living south of the river or in Meigs County (north of HWY 68).
Please bring photo ID, proof of address, phone number, and Social Security Card for each person living in the home.
Love in Action, Project Virgil – This project was completed in July 2022, but details of it’s progress can still be accessed through the link above.
Your church has impacted my life for a couple of years now good things helped me with bringing christmas to my son as i am a single father trying to make ends meet. Even your halloween events in the past have made such an impact on my sons and i lives. I sure you are open for clothing and food today. But i wanted to say thank you so much. Bless you all.
I am having a hard time getting my son abed. We have been having it hard this year like ever one he does have abs to sleep in I let him sleep in my bed I sleep on couch for over a year we have no one to go get us abed. Its just me and him he’s 15.. Please pray we find one an things get better for the world god bless.
